Gendarmerie vehicles
Gendarmerie Iveco Daily IV

The Gendarmerie is a military police force that belongs to both the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of the Interior. It is also called the National Gendarmerie.
It is an organization equivalent to Italy’s Carabinieri. Incidentally, the Carabinieri also used exactly the same Iveco Daily.
The paint schemes and models of Italian emergency vehicles are introduced in the article below.

Police Nationale vehicles
Police Nationale Citroën Berlingo II

The Police Nationale is the national police force under the Ministry of the Interior.
The jurisdictions of the National Police and the Gendarmerie are generally divided according to whether an urban area has at least 2 million inhabitants. At major events such as the Nice Carnival, however, they may provide security together.
It is an organization equivalent to the Italian police (Polizia).
Police Nationale CRS Yamaha FJR1300

CRS stands for Compagnie républicaine de sécurité, a National Police unit specializing in security operations such as counterterrorism.
The Yamaha FJR1300 is used in France and many other European countries as a so-called “white motorcycle.”
Although France is a major automobile-producing country, it has surprisingly little presence in the world of 2-wheeled vehicles, or motorcycles. Among relatively large manufacturers, there is only 1 company: Peugeot Motocycles, Peugeot’s 2-wheel division. This contrasts with Italy, which is home to several globally renowned motorcycle manufacturers, including Ducati and Aprilia.
Municipal police vehicles
Police Municipale Citroën C3 II

The Police Municipale is the local police force under the municipality. It handles relatively minor offenses.
It is an organization equivalent to Italy’s “Polizia Municipale.”

Municipal Police Peugeot 207

Looking at the headlights of the Peugeot 207 reminds me of the eyes of the slanted-eyed girls Yoshitomo Nara paints.

RF is short for “République Française,” meaning French Republic. French Republic is France’s official name as a state.
French Ambulances
VSAV Renault Master II

This fire service ambulance is known as a VSAV (Véhicule de secours et d'aide aux victimes).
The engine is a Nissan ZD30DDTi. With only the logo changed from Renault to Nissan, it was also sold as the “Nissan Interstar (Nissan Interstar).”
VPSP Peugeot Expert II

This is an ambulance belonging to the French Red Cross, known as a VPSP (véhicule de premiers secours à personnes) or VPS (Véhicule de premiers secours).
The bonnet stripes and the orange line along the sides of the vehicle are shared with the VSAV.
